People Say

People say you can’t find love when you’re young,
Then again they also say drugs should be legal,
Being gay is wrong,
And money can buy happiness.
What do people know?
People should have an open mind about love.
Love can be found anywhere,
Any age, and
Anytime.
I should know.
I met him at camp,
I was thirteen.
Sure you could say we were in love,
But things have changed since then.
At least that’s what he thinks.
His smile,
His eyes,
They captivate me.
They make me think how I couldn’t want to spend my life without him.
It doesn’t matter anyway.
Maybe people are right,
Maybe you can’t find love when you are young.
But if they are right,
How come I have the strongest feeling
That they’re wrong?
