City Blindness

Faces pass
But it’s all a blur
The sky is gray
Swirls of smoke
The thick heavy air
It is hard to breathe
Dirty streets
Trash from fast food
Lying around the garbage can
Street cleaner rides by
The only effect of it
Is in my throat
A deep inhale to catch my breath
But just choking on the dust
The story is depressing
It has no ending
For the day the city
Becomes clean to the eye
Is the day we all die.
